L’amore ‘O vero
In the Neapolitan dialect the verb “to love” doesn’t exist. But “l’ammore” (THE love) exists. This is how Gnut commented on the release of his new piece “L’ammore ‘O Vero”, a few years ago. The words of this song transcend the Neapolitan dialect, which here is no longer just a dialect, but a feeling, which helps us express easily what we can hardly explain in words.

“Magari fuss’ tu ll’ammore ‘o vero
i’ ‘ngopp all’acqua cammenasse appere
‘e viecchie addiventassero criature
‘a pietto scumparesse tutte teme
Si ‘o vero fuss’ tu ll’amore eterna
stasse ‘a primavera pur ‘a Vierno
nun s’addurmesse the bear until March
and ‘people don’t say I’m crazy”
Gnut / Text by Alessio Sollo
The words of Alessio Sollo are pieces of a mosaic of beautiful images: walking on water, old people who become children again, fear that disappears from the heart, everlasting spring, a bear that doesn’t hibernate … The music of Gnut is the representation of the most beautiful act in life: the one in which you let yourself go without following a script, where you don’t study parts and improvise, without pretending understand much of it.
Here is to love, the real thing.
The print was made in three steps. The lead character (Magister, 1966 – from San Casciano Val di Pesa, Florence) has passed under the rollers of the little Hohner. The wooden title (early 20th century, from Catania) felt all the pressure from the draftsman. The graphics you see below are the result of a passage of the inked roller directly onto the paper. Each copy, therefore, is different from the other.
A Limited Edition of 91 numbered, stamped and signed copies, printed on Cordenons Wild White Natural paper, 450 g (35% cotton and 65% pure ECF virgin cellulose, sourced from responsibly managed forests)
Each copy is inked and printed by hand, so there may be small differences between the photo you see and the object you receive. No copy is perfectly identical to the other. Frame not included.
